Restaurants and grocery stores across the country are experiencing food shortages and delays.
That has consumers paying more as we continue to see supply chain disruptions.
Food banks are feeling the effects as well, and as we enter into the holiday season, donations and governmental assistance is very much needed.
Depending on their location, food banks face different concerns.
So how are the Tampa and Orlando regions managing? And what are local elected officials doing or can do to help address the shortages?

First and foremost, we want to thank God for allowing Hands of Hope America to assist the residents of the Four Corners of Central Florida with our programs. We also thank our community residents, businesses, partners and volunteers for making this possible.
The organization is compounded as a collective effort between community residents, local churches, businesses, and social service agencies. Our founder, directors and staff are committed to assist the community to raise your quality of life.
Our Mission
Hands of Hope America Equips, Empowers, and Restores individuals, families, and communities in need in the Four Corners of Central Florida. Hands of Hope America brings hope to underserved communities. Our resources and services are designed to address the growing issues of food insecurity, poverty, educational literacy, and unemployment.
Our Vision is to provide accessible services and resources to restore self-sufficiency and dignity to all people. The organization is compounded as a collective effort between community residents, local churches, businesses, and social service agencies.
Who We Serve
Based in the Four Corners area of Central Florida, where Lake, Osceola, Orange and Polk Counties come together, we look to our surrounding communities to see who might need the variety of services we can offer. Beyond Four Corners, we spread our support throughout the four counties. We know any family can find themselves in difficult times, whether it be because of a medical condition, loss of a job or a stressful family situation. It’s not your fault. Sometimes life just deals us a difficult hand.

How We Serve
For those who need assistance with feeding their family, we offer a Thrift Store, to make sure everyone gets a nutritious meal, to ensure their on-going well-being. We can also help you with the SNAP program (aka “Food Stamps”). When trying to improve your financial position, we can help make sure you and your family have the proper clothes you need to get and get a job or a better position with our Clothing Closet. We have a variety of new and lightly used clothes to help supplement your wardrobe. We also can help you write your résumé and find a new job.
Sometimes, just getting the legal paperwork together is a challenge. We offer Notary Public services, to make sure all legal forms are properly filled in and filed. And we offer Tutoring in a variety of subjects.
Counseling
Participants that enroll in the program will have access to a variety of counseling referral programs. Depending on the participant’s need and goals, the participant can receive financial stability classes, family planning, parenting counseling, and mental health counseling. Depending on the programs, the individual will receive personal or group counseling by volunteers. Hands of Hope America aims to distribute basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, housing assistance, and access to mental health counseling and medical care to children, teens, and young adults in poverty, crisis, or homeless individuals and families. We aim to provide financial counseling, credit repair assistance, and budget classes. The mental health counseling will provide, anger management, life skill classes, self-sufficient training, stress relief training, alcohol and narcotics anonymous classes and assist our veterans with needs.
Stories of Hope
We’ve been so blessed to be able to help so many in our community. And we’re so happy when our neighbors share their stories of how our services have helped them improved their lives – family, health, finances – and more.
We Need Your Help!
For us to continue to help our community, we rely on the donations and volunteering of our neighbors and nearby companies. Even a small donation, made on a monthly basis can help those in need. And Corporate donations, through partners and sponsors, bring tremendous help to the communities we serve.
